Episcopal Priest Opening

We are seeking a priest for a part-time (approximately 20 hours) position with a unique ecumenical community of Episcopalians and Roman Catholics sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of Southern Virginia and the Catholic Diocese of Richmond.

Holy Apostles is in beautiful Virginia Beach located in southeast Virginia at the Atlantic Ocean. This position offers a generous part-time salary that is negotiable, with benefits and flexible hours.

Position Details:

You would be expected to celebrate the Episcopal Holy Eucharist on Sundays during our “one service, two liturgies” format which respects both traditions. Since we are an ecumenical community with families from both traditions, we celebrate Roman Catholic Mass followed by Episcopal Holy Eucharist each week during our one service.

You would also be expected to meet weekly with our deacon who serves as the Roman Catholic senior pastoral associate and co-administrator  to help coordinate and plan activities and future needs.

Other responsibilities include occasionally leading Bible Study and Christian Education and meeting with members who are ill or in need of guidance.

We are a small community but provide many and varied community outreach programs. We believe that we have been an important living example of our Christian mission; "that all may be one;" over our 46 years.
